The Oak Tree Farms Footwear Company is a motley group of eccentric dreamers with a passion for creating whimsical, vintage-inspired leather footwear. We believe in honoring the traditions of the craft and the silhouettes of a bygone era, in addition to creating new masterpieces, envisioned and romantically predicted of times yet to come. We invite you into our vast imaginations and fierce penchant for handmade quality! Originally inspired by the romantic fashions of Victorian times and the American old-west, Oak Tree Farms opened its doors in 1995. Today we have expanded to draw inspirations from the fanciful and playful European markets, the rich and mysterious drama of ancient Gothic times, and the eternal quest for time-travel into both the past and the future. Family Owned - We work with skilled artisans in our family-owned factory to handcraft our leather boots and shoes, one pair at a time. Environmentally Friendly - We strive to use 100% vegetable tanned leathers, as it is healthier for the environment. Health Conscious - More importantly, vegetable tanning is healthier for our artisans, the many other hands within our supply chain, and you. Our vegetable tanned leathers are prepared using pigment-free, plant-based tanning's and dyes from tree bark, leaves and plants. This results in chemical free, formaldehyde free and chrome free shoes. Our dyes are pigment free and plant-based. This creates a safer environment for our workers and lends itself to a more authentic process. Our Goodyear welted collection is handcrafted exactly as it was in 1869, when the technique was invented by Charles Goodyear. After 150 years, shoemakers still consider the Goodyear welt to be the finest method of shoe construction known to man.
