Cowgirl Skirts and Vests the Women on the American Western frontier during the late 1800s began wearing practical buckskin skirts and vests as ranch wear. Our hand-made skirts and matching vests are made of high quality deerskin for comfort, beauty and durability. Fancy cowgirl clothing came along with the Dude Ranch, Silver Screen and country music. Evidence of these outfits can also be seen in B-Westerns such as the 1939 movie “Destry Rides Again.” Custom-designed rhinestone and fancy cowgirl outfits, along with women’s buckskins, are available by request.

These Ensembles are inspired by designs worn by early Wild West performers, turn-of-the-century rodeo cowgirls, the Silver Screen, and Dudeens who frequented the Dude Ranches of the West from the 1920s through the 1940s. Our deerskin leather cowgirl skirt is cut very full with a straight waistband, two pockets, and a laced placket in back.
